Shadower AI ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data We Collect

We collect and process the following data:

Account information: Your email address and payment details (processed securely through our payment provider, Dodo Payments). We do not store your full credit card number.
Resume data: The PDF resume you upload is processed locally on your device to extract skills, experience, and projects. The extracted text is used to ground AI responses in your real background.
License key: A unique license key is generated upon purchase and stored on our servers to validate your subscription status.

3. Audio Data

Shadower captures microphone audio and system audio locally on your device for real-time transcription. This audio is:

Transcribed locally on your machine
The transcript text (not raw audio) is sent to OpenAI's API over an encrypted connection to generate AI responses
Raw audio is never stored, recorded, or sent to our servers
Transcript text is ephemeral and not retained after your session ends

4. Screen Data

Shadower's overlay uses a hardware-level display layer. We do not capture, record, or transmit any screenshots or screen recordings from your device.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

OpenAI API: Transcript text is sent to generate AI responses. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
Dodo Payments: Payment processing. Subject to Dodo's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and license key for the duration of your subscription. Upon cancellation, account data is deleted within 30 days. We do not retain any audio, transcript, or session data.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request deletion of your account and associated data
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Opt out of future communications

8. Security

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. License keys are hashed before storage. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
